If you are coming to this page from Dr. Bind's blog, you already know part of the story:
Here's the deal. Some customers have gotten sucked into paying more - like 3 times more - punching oval patterns for use with machines like the GBC DigiCoil. The problem is that 30 mm plastic coil doesn't insert easily into oval holes, for reasons that become obvious if you look at our diagram. Even thought the pitch of the oval is .250, the actual inside diameter of the hole is only .172. Compare this to a .188 diameter for an oversize .248 4:1 round hole produced by a Rhinotuff #902 die. And the round hole die costs about 1/3 of what the oval die costs.
Not only the does the spiral coil insert easier, the customer save over $1,200 on the die. And they also save time: oval dies are special orders, and the waiting period is weeks.
If you're a DigiCoil user, take advantage of our Rhinotuff Die Special.
